“Uh Oh, Doritos”

Well I’ve officially heard it all. CEO of PepsiCo Indra Nooyo, had released a statement regarding Frito Lay’s Doritos. That lovely, crunchy nacho-chip with a caked on layering of flavor from nacho cheese to oddly named flavors that I frankly don’t even know what they are. So, recently the CEO had commented how “men lick their fingers with great glee while eating Doritos, as women do not”. And it calls for a “women’s Dorito”.

[ Don’t adjust your screen, you read that correctly.]

The statement in itself is in my opinion utterly ridiculous. An obvious “power move” by so-called feminists. Some feminists like Cathy Areu of Catalina Magazine believes women can and should “pig out” as it were and eat like a caveman. From the licking of the fingers to the “eating obnoxiously loud” as that tends to happen with a crispy snack. So lady like.

While the other feminists are claiming we “need” a “lady’s Doritos”. One that won’t be as “messy” or crunchy. No I am not making this up. Wish I was. I suppose they’ll promote it like, “The Ladies Doritos, only 77% of the crunch!” Given the pay-gap myth that claims women make only 77 cents to the dollar compared to men for equal work. Not true ladies.

If you take into account life choices, entering fields they choose that simply do not pay the same. Women tend to work fewer hours, less likely to work late, less likely to ask for a raise. Not doing certain jobs that are dangerous such as working on skyscrapers or building bridges. Where men make good money because of the dangers of that type of work. Or simply the fact that men tend to go into fields like Science, Math, Business that give them opportunities in fields that pay more, where as women do not.

So it appears obvious to me that even feminists can not make up their minds on what they want. Do you want equality? Do you want to be treated exactly like men? Or is it special treatment? Make up your minds ladies. There is a reason you all have been heavily mocked about this topic. Pushing for a “women’s packaging and design of a low-crunch chip” is so nonsensical. Frito Lay already has a women’s Dorito. They’re called “Doritos”.
