“Christmas extended-UN budget gets cut”

After warning the United Nations that the US would “take names” of countries that voted for a resolution demanding that Donald Trump withdraw recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, ambassador Nikki Haley announced a $285 million cut to the UN’s operations budget. This is really good news for the United States. Why should we be paying 22% and being continually disrespected by these other countries? They hated the plan to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem and proved it by voting against it. Well Nikki Haley certainly gave them a wake up call.

The other day at the UN meeting, Nikki Haley addressed everyone responding to the voting down of the US Embassy being moved. I am extremely happy for her and our country being represented so well, and strong. For once. She reminded them all that the United States will remember this next time they “come calling for aid”. And she is absolutely correct.

Haley: “inefficiency and overspending” of the organization is well-known, and she would not let “the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of.”
She also noted that while the mission was pleased with the results of budget negotiations, it would continue to “look at ways to increase the U.N.’s efficiency while protecting our interests.”

That doesn’t include the fact we also give billions of dollars elsewhere to other countries on top of the 22% of the UN’s operations budget. Some, countries that despise us. This $285 million budget cut with rumors of possibly more UN cuts [ hope so, it’s only 5.3% of UN operations total budget ] are rumored as Trump called the UN “disgraceful”. They are. Hopefully, at some point we can get rid of the United Nations. They’re useless. And a financial burden to the United States with no “return” on their investment.

Haley’s announcement sends a message that the US will keep the pressure on the UN for real reform in its operations. Haley plans to get tough with the UN both on policy and “inefficiency and overspending,” which is a diplomatic manner of saying corruption. If the United Nations can’t do that on its own, the US intends to reduce the spoils possible and remove a lot of the incentive.
